Our School Location What do you known about Japan？Sushi, Mt Fuji or Ichirou (Major Leager)? Our school is located in the middle of Japan in the Chubu region. It's also located in the center of Aichi Prefecture. Our hometown is called Miyoshi. It's between Nagoya and Toyota cities. There are three TOYOTA automobile factories in our town. Due to this, most of the parents of our children work in a jobs connected to TOYOTA. In the northern part of our school district, many new houses are being built. So for the first time in many years, the first grade has 3 classes this year. In the southern part of our school district there are still many fields. Rice has been grown in these fields for many years by the parents and grandparents, who were all graduates of our school. (Our school is 120 years old!） On one side of our school runs the Tomei expressway. The expressway is convenient and we couldn't live without it, but it is quite noisy and there is some exhaust. All the windows on that side of our school buildings have double glazing. On the other side of our school grounds, there is a small forest, ponds and some traditional farms. Also near our school are the remains of an old castle and a traditional kiln.
pricipal H.MIZUNO	From our principal Aiming for a pleasant and hardworking school A major effort is in improving the foundation for good scholarship, particularly focusing on mathermatics. To do this we have instigated a program of classes with a small number of students and team teaching. We also have a program called HOKU HOKU Study Time. This is a program based on lessons combining thinking and activity/experience based study by individual students. We hope to raise the children's ability to express themselves. Other areas we are working on include a small kindnesses program, welfare and volunteer activities and disaster awareness programs. Our school involves the local community in education, school activities and also opens the school facilities for use by the community. In all these ways we are working to make the school a great place for our children.
